ABOUT US

Weaving Community
Our wish is to start a free folk school to share and exchange our passions and our hobbies with our neighbors, where craftsmanship comes together with community building. Where people can come together for weekend workshops, anchored in place, and free exchange. Held by the community of Ionia in Kasilof.
Folk School Vision
Turning a Vision of a resilient Kenai
into Reality
Together we will learn skills such as: woodwork, timber framing, metal work, pottery, permaculture, whole-foods macrobiotic cooking, creative writing, dance, song, yoga, mountaineering, food preservation, natural building, rocket-mass heaters as well as many others,

Vision
Our dream is to be a place to learn new skills and to step out of the capitalistic system of exchange and into a system of free gifting and sharing, a place to receive togetherness and build community. A place to co-create, to bring and share your gifts in the community. Hereby strengthening the resiliency of the Kenai Peninsula of Alaska
